Action Meeting - January 7, 2025

Recognitions

The Board recognized:

  • Chief Human Resources Officer Angela Montemarano for winning the prestigious HR Excellence Award in Education for the North American Region, at the 2024 HRO Today Association Conference and Awards Program.

Consent Action Items

The School Board approved:

  • The instructional calendar for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • A service agreement with EveryDay Labs, Inc. to implement an engagement solution designed to support student success by preventing student absenteeism, engaging families, and connecting them to district support.
  • An amended contract with the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to provide additional personnel and material support for school gardens.
  • Funding to replace athletic fields at North Fort Myers High School, Mariner High School, Island Coast High School, East Lee County High School, and Riverdale High School. Funding for maintenance at 14 high schools is also included.
  • Funding to support the purchase and rental of uniforms as negotiated with SPALC, including shirts, pants, shorts, belts, jackets, sweaters, and leased uniforms as anticipated for Food Service, Maintenance, and Transportation staff.
  • Funding for a roof replacement at Bonita Springs Middle Center for the Arts and roof upgrades to the PE pavilion at Gulf Elementary School.
  • Funding for aluminum walkways, covers, and canvas projects at Transportation Central, Patriot Elementary, Ray V. Pottorf Elementary, J. Colin English Elementary, Trafalgar Elementary, Caloosa Elementary, Pinewoods Elementary, and Lexington Middle School.
  • Pursuing the sale of 9+/- acres of District-owned Property at 1429 NE 15th Ave. in Cape Coral.
